Default Any differences between EX and DX transmissions?

Was wondering if there are differences as far as ratios, shift points etc between a ex auto tranny and dx auto tranny? Was planning on getting a d16z6 n just keeping my auto tranny unless the ex auto tranny will be useful.

Really? In an auto format. Just to be clear I'm aware in the manual format the ex/si is better.

Yes, there are differences. The EX transmission is made to pick up faster, while the DX transmission gearing is made to be more power conservative.

They're different enough that they'll throw a CEL if you put the EX auto in a DX and vice-versa with the stock ECUs.

Yep, ask me how I know...

Also, at least as far as the '92 - '95s were concerned, the DX was geared lower than the EX, just the opposite of the manual transmissions the reason being the EX/Si engine had enough power to cruise at a lower RPM and not lug.
