can i equip my "cx" 5th gen hatch with antisway bars or not??
if no do i need any kind of kit that allows me to???

your best bet would be to go with honda sway bars. I would run a EX 22mm up front and a 22mm ITR bar in the rear with the beaks kit

It can be done, but I think you have to drill holes. On my fat pig 93 Si hatch, I already had stock sway bars, so the holes were there when I replaced them with ST's.

Simple cure, EIBACH.

Been running their anti sway bar setup for 5-6 years now. No drilling, no changing the LCA's.

DX along with CX and VX came with NO bars, period.

I always had concerns that this setup would hit over bumps, Mista, but does it?

I put in an Si front sway with Del Sol S front control arms and that was the Shittzat,

and I put in a Suspension Techniques rear sway and that is also a very good bar (I'm not sure its as good as the ITR, but it required less work and swapping).

how could it hit? Stock exhaust hangs lower the the Eibachs bars.

The only issue I've found is when jacking up the front. The front sway bar will limit downtravel. This means the LCA is under tension. Also makes the lower ball joint come apart easier!

I meant the front Eibach bar. I could never quite "visualize" in my head the Eibach bar path under the suspension. I couldn't tell if it would hang low in the front or not.

As you may know, the add on ST front bar (on a car with no front bar) the bar goes UNDER the stock exhaust, raising questions of would it scrape over speedbumps or other bumps.

I had this same question about Eibachs, but I don't know. Would you have a picture?

no picture handy, but Eibach goes OVER the exhaust and linkage/shift rod. The ONLY problem with this, is the middle hoop part hits on the subframe when front suspension is fully unloaded. Like jackstands at the forward jack points.

My 93 Civic had started it's winter nap unless I get some Lude injectors in next 2 weeks. I'll snap a picture, but likely won't be till March.

shawnhayes, I have the ST kit front and rear with the adaption brackets on my '94 cx. To answer your inquiry about the low mounting sway bars and whether or not it hits, suprisingly no. I live in PA and the road are crap and I haven't caught it on anything. It fits close to the cat but doesn't rub, which is good.

Even the endlinks which mount below the front control arm don't seem to hit. The directions say to install the endlink bolts pointing up but they seem to bind with the adaption brackets. Not enough clearance. For the hell of it I installed mine pointing down and they seem very close to the ground. I've had it like this for about a month now and no problems. Perhaps being so close to the wheel helps protect the endlinks.

This was my personal experience and I'm happy with the setup. Like I said the adaption brackets in the front could have been designed better, but I'm still pleased.

I appreciate it. I did think there might be some strikes, but I couldn't visualize the path. I like the stock Honda bar up front, but the turns are so convoluted that I think it compromises the bar somewhat.

I bought the rear setup for my 98 coupe (works really well for the price ) and it squeaks on cold weather.

Does this mean I need to lube it?

Lube it if you can. Silicone grease, but it isn't easy to find. Mista Bone had a link.

I don't like the front, but I do like the rear. I think it might be about as good as the ITR one, and it's hella cheaper to install (to do an ITR right, you have to buy MUCHO more parts).

I will second Shawnhayes' comment about the front ST sway bar. I have it on my 1993 CX and it rubbs at two points on my chasis. I hate it! I will be removing it this weekend.

How about the Z10 motorsports kit? Is that setup strictly for drag use?

if u dont have an si u need to get the rear lower arms with the sway bar mounts only si came with them or u can get 92-93 solid lower arms , we just got a set for my buddys car and they were hard to find and for the front im not sure if u have the holes or not if not i recomend u get the gsr arms and sway bar.hopefully that helps.

I drive my 92 Civic with the Z10 kit to and from work everyday, and its my primary car on the weekend too.

However, I did "modify" the spashgaurd so I could keep it on with the Z10 bars on as well. This makes big bumps HURT REAL BAD, though, so only get the Z10's if you're serious about acceleration. I love mine.

Eibach is 25mm/17 or 17.5 mm.

Most people who get ITR rear bars do one of two things, if not both.

Rip the frame out (Beaks cure) or crash the car when the rear end snaps around on the street.
