WELL MAIN THING IS A LITTLE ICON CALLED "SEARCH" YOU MIGHT NOTICE IT'S THE RED THING UP NEAR THE TOP OF THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.(Hell even if you're color blind you can still find it just above the "recent topics" link)
But, to be somewhat helpful, what do you want to do with the motor? Daily driver, drag only, auto x, etc. Either way a B16 isn't that great of a motor for NA (take it from someone who made one )
for NA there really is no replacement for displacement, for turbo apps the replacement for displacement is higher boost (although added displacement is always better)

Daily driver.... The only reason i want to stay n/a is because of reliability.
My buddy has a S2 which was boosted and had alot money dumped into it and it ran 4 about 2 weeks lol.. i want something that will get out of its own way and not blow up lol

Re: All Motor B16? (DelSolB16Maryland)
well, do you plan on staying stock bore/stroke?
Best overall cams I found when I was still trying the NA route was the buddy club spec 3+ or the skunk 2 pro series 1. Flat valves will bump up the compression about .2 - .5 and good for a few whp. For a little more grunt, you can look into the b17 crank and rods(will make your engine identical to a b17), For the intake side, a 3" injen CAI or the AEM(original not the V2), slightly larger TB(say 65-66mm), a ported ITR IM and a good racing header(such as the weapon R race or whitfield) with all that you may be still under 200whp. if you get the block sleeved and go with an 84-85 mm bore and higher comp. pistons you'll probally make somewhere around 210-230whp at the most.
just to let you know though, a boosted motor can easily be reliable...just keep the boost fairly low and use only quality components(for added insurance you can sleeve it)

if you want to look at different internals and how they'll work together, use this thing.
http://www.zealautowerks.com/index.html
If you bump the compression ratio, don't forget to use at least 91 octane

Re: All Motor B16? (DeadEnd9009)
Yeah i plan on staying with the stock bore and stroke.. someone was telling me maybe the b17 stroker kit would help? but i dunno
The cams though...wont i have to mess with the whole head if i start going with cams? I think so because of the raise in lobe length???

Re: (egmatt93)
I think you should do some searching before you buy anything, and b16 motors are not the bad I built 2 of them and they are pushing over 320 whp with a turbo kit

yes b17 crank and rods should be good for about 5-7 ft/lbs of tq. and 3-5whp.
The whole point of NA is making the head flow better...the only way to have a successful NA build is lots of head work. basically, a port/polished head with a 3 or more angle valve job is the centerpiece of a good build. you can get away with leaving the block alone and still make a good amount of power.
also another ? I haven't seen asked yet:
What is your budget?
Can you assemble the motor yourself? (if not...set at least 1/2 of your budget for install costs!)
But more than anything else:

Start researching in the all motor forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: All Motor B16? (broketuner-Sol_Si)
LOL yeah i noticed the all motor column after i created this topic... my pockets arent to deep but i can put out 1,500 a month i guess. Oh and yeah i can build it myself but i dont wanna mess with advancing and retarding the timing im not that good yet

Re: All Motor B16? (DelSolB16Maryland)
well if you can put 1500/month into it that's pretty deep IMO.
Here's what I'd do:
EXHAUST:
Good race header- 300-650(depending on if you buy new or used)
2.5" mandrel bent exhaust - 400 (if not already done)
HEAD:
Larger injectors- 225
Good Tune-up 120
Cams & valvetrain 800-1000
Head worked over - 750-1000
INTAKE:
Complete Injen or AEM 3" CAI - 250(or wait about a month or so and buy mine for 120 ....just need IC piping and BOV and it'll be off my car)
DON'T bother with the IM/TB until after cams!!!!
Good IM- 350-650(I'd really reccomend a CNC ported ITR if you can find one)
64-66mm TB- 225-350(on a mild build any bigger and the air loses velocity making less power than stock for the most part)
BLOCK:
ARP headstuds - 125
ITR pistons- 250 (CTRs if you have regular access to 93+octane)
ARP rod bolts - 100
B17 carnk and rods - 350-500
Balance and BP rotating assembly - 300
like I said earlier, all that and you may barely break the 200whp mark I purposely put the typical retail pricing so you know how expensive NA can be.
On my old setup here's what I did:
3" Injen CAI
AEBS IM(port matched)
Hondata IM gasket
AEBS 68mm TB(this is how I know bigger TBs aren't that great for mild NA setups)
Magnecore wires/denso plugs
JG cam gears
RC 310s
'96 spec ITR header(cast iron 4-2-1 design...not '98 spec 4-1 steel)
Custom Mandrel bent exhast with hiflow cat and twinloop
all that and I was still only making 160whp & 110ft/lbs, with cams and a better header the tuner told me I could've expected 180-190whp...200 if I was very lucky

Re: All Motor B16? (broketuner-Sol_Si)
Thats alittle upsetting.... all that to barely break 200hp. i know the turbo is the easy way out... i just didnt want the easy way out wanted to try something alil different... Oh well "If ya cant beat em join em" I guess a turbo is soon in the making

Re: All Motor B16? (DelSolB16Maryland)
I usually laugh at people that want to build an ALL MOTOR B16 ,but considering OMNI man built an ALL MOTOR 200 WHP B16 I would say go for it.

Uh there's anything new about building an all motor b16.

Re: All Motor B16? (whal3_p3nis)
he didn't say new, just different, and he's right, very few people put in the time money and effort to make a good all motor b16a...especially one that breaks the 200whp mark.
I dabbled in the NA b16 world and was sorely dissappointed with all the $ I spent on parts and tuning @ the various stages, most people are with a fairly small displacement motor...IMO anything below a 2.0L NA setup is a waste.
