Default Adjusting valves, i need a write up for a d- series.

i searched and for some reason couldnt find anything, not even in FAQ wtf?

thanks for the link..... so are all d15 valve clearances .18 (.007) in. and .23 (.009) exhaust?

i'm also about to do this... i get setting tdc for cylinder one, it being straight up, but how do you get it perfectly accurate especially when trying to turn it exactly 90degrees for cylinder3, etc...?

can always do good old faithful take out the plugs and use a extra long screw driver and when it at the highest point you are good - atleats thats what I do and it always worx great

i did my valve adjustment and WTF... all my exhaust valves were set at .005

so i backed them all out to .009... seems like it runs a little smoother

i let it cool down for 2 hours, it was a little warm i think, why?

the write up says one hundred degrees or cooler, but my buddy just had his car at the local import shop for a valve adjustment and they told him to drop it off the night before because it needed to be completely cold. i dunno i was just curious.

edit: my take on it would be if the metal is even slightly hot and expanded it could throw off such a small measurement of .007 and .009

yea i problaly shold have let it cool down a bit longer... but they were .005... so i backed it out to .009 and i wonder if im going to have a loose valve now...................
