adjusting a del sol si auto tranny shift points.
97 del sol si with automatic tranny.
Is there anyway to adjust the shift points of the tranny. car is stock for now.
If gear selector is in d4. At WOT tranny will shift out of 1st gear at 6600rpm, 2nd gear at 6400rpm and 3rd gear 6600rpms.
I believe max hp is acheived at 6600rpms. I would like to raise the shift points a few hundred rpms if possible. In 2nd gear the engine never reachs max hp. Even if I put the gear selector in 2nd gear the tranny will shift out at 6400rpms. This doesn't happen if selector is placed in 1st gear, engine will rev past 6600rpms.
Not trying to make a race car out of the thing. Just want a little extra power when desired.
I have simple bolt ons on order.
Will a JDM auto ecu help out here if there is such a thing? I mean they make jdm auto gsr's and sr20dets. So there should be a ecu for a auto SOHC VTEC
