Default About Auto Tranny?

I was wondering if you start from first gear and shift through 2,3,4 so I could go to higher RPM, would it hurt the tranny a lot. I know I should get a manual swap and I am looking for one. but I was just wondering this question! thanks

I know in my crapomantic, dropping it to lower gears will do nothing but make it slower. For my 96 ex (d16y8), 2 locks it in second gear and will not shift up or down. 3 just eliminates the 4th and final gear or overdrive. And 4 is for normal driving.

Depending on your tranny, it might be the same for you. Either way, don't do it. There is no reason for you to do it. Just drive like a normal person and floor it when you wanna go fast.

if u floor ur car it will automaticly rev to the highest safe rpm any above that will probaly damage ur engine so there is no need to shift auto ur self i have a 97 dx and when i floor it the gears switch at around 6400 rpm i wouldnt wanna go much higher than that...if u dont want to convert to manual u can grab an ex/si tranny from a junkyard they ar plug and play no mods needed it will give u shorter gears and make ur car a bit more fun

Cool Ive also been looking into that, but if I could get the conversion that would be my first option if not then I would do the tranny upgrade, also thanks for the info on the gears. Really appreciate it. Thanks!

idk if ur tryin to be sarcastic but all im tryin to say is the auto ex/si tranny will go on without any mods needed. the s20 from the z6 should also be plug and play....idk y u would want it because the s40 from the y8 is superior( its got steel shift forks) so my advice def the s40 from the d16y8 from any 98-00 ex...the jdm b15b could also be another choice tho it does not have steel shift forks it does have LSD
All SHOULD be plug and play but the only 1 i am sure of is the 98-00 ex tranny
