Adding Rear Speakers to Civ
i got a 93 civ hatch, dx and the deck has option for rear fading and the wiring harness looks like it supports rear speakers but there are none in the car.
id like to add two but i think wiring mite already be ran to the back of the car, or i want to double check that the stock deck wiring supports rear speakers.
let me know if you have any information on this, i checked underthedash.com and im going to first see if the wiring is there for the two rear speakers...
thanks in advance, aL

In my Cx i ran the wires from the speakers in the back to the Head unit (aftermarket) and hide the wires under the carpet and plastic and tied them into the factory wiring not hard took about 1 hour to hide everything.

Re: Adding Rear Speakers to Civ (Empire)
i now know that the deck does support more speakers. but my question is where is the wiring that is in back of the factory radio? it is running somewhere, just where has it been run? my car didnt have rear speaker pannels, just black filler pannels.
any information greatly appreciated....
ps - thanks to those who have already posted

Re: (moto27cm)
rear speakers aren't really a good idea. you don't need them at all, except maybe for your passengers sitting in the back seat.
for the driver, and passenger sitting shotgun... they're barely audible. rear speakers suck. spend the money on a better component set. you'll be glad you did i bet.
as an experiment, set up your speakers so you only have the rear channels. that sounds amazingly bad!! i've had my mids unmounted for a couple weeks lately and tried moving them around all over the car. the worst place to put them was by the back seats.
a pro installer at a local car audio shop that's really good has a 92 hatch that he's building a totally custom interior for... The install cost would cost $16,000 WITHOUT any of the equipment!! His Civic came with the factory rear speaker grilles. Is he running rear speakers? NOPE! what does that tell you?

tells me maybe his budget is blown j/k
seriously...as previously std rear speakers benefit rear passengers

Is that my car?
I have the gathers set up, and it is pretty sweet. Need to add some decent speakers though.
Wiring is there. Stock Honda speakers are "bolt in".

Re: Adding Rear Speakers to Civ (White Lightnin)
I've the the brackets for mounting a speaker, with blue covers though.... yeah for sale ... track cars don't need car audio.
If someone just wanted the mounting stuff itself, I could sell that for like 30, a local guy wants the covers.

Re: Adding Rear Speakers to Civ (splitime)
My friends car didn't come with rear speakers so we went to the junkyard one day and got lucky:
