1995 civic dx sedan - wiring rear deck speakers
Hey everyone,
im putting together a plan to hook up rear deck speakers in my 4 door, but it has no factory set harnesses, atleast i dont see. I have a junkyard nearby so i can pick out the rear deck with the spear grills and sank speakers in the spaces. But what about the wiring, how could i wire up some NEW** rear deck speakers? Any suggestions?

Look for the harnesses. They should be there. Tucked up underneath something.
Otherwise you run the wires from the deck. Not rocket science.

Run wires from the deck to what?? And to me its rocket science because its alot easier said then done. I dont want to run them straight off my battery.

Uh. Run the speaker wires from the deck (headunit) to the rear speakers?
Why would you run speakers to your battery? They aren't powered.
Suggestion. Take your car to a professional because what you're asking is about as basic as it gets.

GM is correct. Speakers are powered off the stereo deck. If you're adding something non-standard like a subwoofer, then you need a powered amp which wasnt an option. Sites like the installdr and 12v can probably help you more than anything. Besides I doubt insulting the guy with 28k informative posts will yield you full info.

Grumble pretty much addressed the vague question of your original post. If you really want help, then you need to formulate much more specific questions. Otherwise, this thread will quickly degenerate and nothing will be accomplished.

Wires are behind the carpet in the quarter pannels, look hard you will find them. All Honda's are wired for 4 speakers even if they never came with rears

Every 5G sedan I've ever seen has wires for rear speakers dangling in the trunk, below the rear deck, ie., the thing under the rear window. If yours aren't there, then they've been messed with by a P.O. so you'll need to hunt for where the wires were cut.
