ABS question... help please!
HELP ME READ MY LAST POST
I have a question about my anti lock brakes. Something is messed up but i have no idea what. It is a 95 civic ex... Sometimes the abs light will come on, sometimes it wont.
When your driving the car will make a weird ticking noise, then you push in the brakes.. and it feels like the brakes will barely work and the pedal is squishy .. then another noise will come like .. EENN. then pedal will stiffen up like normal, and the brakes will work good, and the ticking noise will go away. Happens everyday... alot.
Any one ever had this problem?? Thanks guys
ive tried bleeding the brakes and that doesnt help..
Like my sound effects? lol

If your ABS light shows up you can do the same code check as your CEL light.. but it sounds like your accumulator is going out. Thanks what that noise is. the ABS system was pressurizing so your brake pedal feel goes stiff.

But get it checked first before resorting to replacement.

Dang I used to say I would do just about anything for some ABS, but after hearing how much that is...I am starting to think otherwise....

Yes listen to this guy, I had the same problem you did, but it was with my 96 Accord Ex it baffled me at first and then I started trouble shooting and it was my Accumulator. My ABS unit had a leak in it some where and the motor had to keep pressurizing to keep the system working, but I use to get the ABS light all the time. So I went to my local junk yard and got a Whole ABS Unit from a low mile 94 or 95 Accord for like $100 or $150 and swapped it in and bleed the system and never had another problem.

Re: ABS question... help please! (haccord2.2)
I took my car to honda and i told the guy i think my accumulator is going out. He said hes never heard of one going out on my car. He said for $86 he can look at it, but im broke and just wanted his suggestions. I told him what the problems were and he said
Ha sounds like your accumulator is going out. Then he said he guesses it could be the abs module.
For now i said **** it so i took out the main ABS fuse. I drove around and the ABS light is on, w no abs... now i just gotta feather the brake pedal insted of slammin it.
My brothers friend technician is going to look at it real quick in about 15 mins so i put the fuse back in... drove around the block..
And the freaking ABS wont turn back on
