Default 99 h22 :D

My friend has a 93 eg and he is getting a 99 h22 for real cheap. In 2001 sept issue of SCC they used a 93 h22 engine to put into a 92 eg , what i was wondering is that is if there is any diffrenence in the swap if the 99 h22 is used instead of the 93? Thanx

not much of a difference, other than the EG is OBD1 and the 99 H22 harness is OBDII -- in this case, while making (or whereever you are getting it installed), make the h22 harness out of his stock civic harness being OBD1 again, and this will also eliminate the secondary o2 sensor.

I would get jdm/usdm p13 with the h22 and get rid of the OBDII one

hth

o ya, and the SCC article is very good

also, some 97-01 H22A's came with ATTS which is built into the tranny and is part of a big thingy that takes the place of the half-shaft. My friend is doing a 97 H22A into his 94 EG, and we're a bit unsure as to how the ATTS equipment and tranny will operate if there's no ATTS ECU or anything to control it right in his obd1 vehicle. I think an obd1 h22a tranny and halfshaft would be the way to go for him and for you, but that's my opinion...

But yeah, use your OBD1 harness and the H22A harness and basically merge them together to work in your car. Then get a P13 like that guy said, or you can get an obd1 p72 ECU and chip it. You need an ECU that will control the dual stage manifold of the H22A.

Good luck!

Why do people think when you put an H22 in a Civic you can't turn?

My question is, have you ever driven in an EG with an H22..... that's what I thought!

yups the people that tell u not to get a h22a are the ones that have never had it or for the most part have ever been in a civic or integra with an h22a!! Isn't that ironic?

I ran that time about 2 1/2 years agp. I had a simple setup. Type-S cams,Type-S pistons, headwork, Basic bolt ons. Ecu upgrade and tuning. Alot of tuning. When i built the engine i made sure the clearances were to spec and that everything was properly balanced. I have made more power with a new setup. The car should go low 11's. Both motors are on pump gas.
