99 Civic Si won't start but fuel pump primes
Hello H-T members, im having trouble with my 99 civic si not starting...
Whenever i turn the ignition key i just get a cranking noise.
first thing i tried was opening the gas cap to check if i could hear the FUEL pump which i did.
Next I tried to Jump start the car but it WONT turn/crank over.
Next thing i tried was checking the fuses to see if any were bad but they all seem fine.
now I am without a car and trying to figure out what could be wrong.
any suggestions would be helpful, thanks

Re: Car won't start
Is it manual? If it is, you might try rounding up the manpower to push start it. If the battery is good, and you can push start it, you have a starter issue (either juice not reaching it [wiring] or a bad unit).

yeah its a manual, I tried to push start it but it didnt work. The battery and starter are both in working condition.

You said it doesn't crank over. If you've got lights coming on, tried jump starting it, and can't get it to crank...I'm hard pressed to believe that's a good starter.

You have not clearly defined the problem.
crank or turn over = when the starter is able to turn engine
start = when the engine fires up and runs after cranking or push start
Use terms that describe exactly what problem you are having. Is this a crank or start problem?

start simple, check all of your grounds to make sure everything is as it should be, the ground on the thermostat housing can cause a car to not start, also, idk if any of your wiring is chamnged bt on the drivers side shock tower, there is a harness end with a plastic plug in it, if that isn't plugged in then you wont have spark. You can also check to see if you have spark and rule that issue out.
