Default 99-00 si b16 into a EG...........i got tired of searching!!!!!

ok i bought a 99-00 si b16 for my 99 civic hatch, and now i'm about to buy a EG hatch so i wanna put the b16 into it.........so heres my question

will the 99-00 si intake manifold work with the sensors on it?
do i need a different tps or other sensors??
is there anything else that wont work with the 95 civic EX wiring harness besides the injectors and the distributor???

i've done swaps into EF's and EK's but i have not even touched an EG before

thanx in advance for your help!!!!!!!

u can use all the sensors that come with the motor
use the b16a2 alxes and linkage.
u will need a g3 teg rear mount , and drivers side mount.
ac mount and the lower tranny mount all from a g3 teg.
u can use your ex harness.
yes u can use everything from that motor
just get a chipped p28 and your straight
u can use the stock b16a2 intake manifold , injectors and the distributor.

Wheel looks kind of small for a hamster. What size or kind of turbo is that?

A few things you'll need to do that I don't think anyone else will be posting:

1. Use your stock EG engine harness

2. Keep your OBD1 injectors - or cut and splice the OBD2 injectors

3. You must remove the cover on the B16A2 alternator and remove the voltage regulator, and swap in your EG's alternator's OBD1 voltage regulator - they are exchangable.

The voltage regulator is the piece inside the alternator where the engine harness plugs into the alternator. The plug on the OBD1 engine harness will not match the OBD2 voltage regulator plug. By doing this you will save money by not having to buy an OBD1 alternaor. I did this on my 1992 Si B16A2 swap and it has lastd fine for 4 years.

4. You can keep the B16A2 distributor, but it doesn't plug directly into the OBD1 engine harness.

Here are pictures outlining the simple 2-wire conversion to make the OBD2 B16A2 dizzy plug into the OBD1 engine harness:

5. You will need to extend the two wires for your intake air temperature sensor AND buy an AEM intake for the 99-00 Civic Si coupe so you'll have a place for the IAT since the B16A2 intake manifold has no port for it.

Other than that it's as easy of a swap as any OBD1 B series. The things I've listed can be done in 30 minutes tops.

Okay for mounts.

Rear mount - use any 94-01 Integra rear bracket and EG Civic rubber mount

Timing side mount - use 94-01 Integra mount and bracket

Topside tranny - use your stock EG Civic mount

Front mounts - use 94-01 Integra brackets with stock EG Civic rubber mounts

ECU? Run a rechipped P28 from Kenji kenji211@tampabay.rr.com is his e-mail.

Wiring? At most it will be 2 wires if you run a P28. VTEC solenoid and VTEC oil pressure wires. If you get an EX or Si you'll not even need to add those wires.

If you get any 1992 Civic you will only need to add those wires from the sensors themselves to the plugs on the strut tower areas because the chassis harness of every 1992 Civic, regardless of trim, already has VTEC wiring embedded in them.

You have any more questions?

all you need is the teg rear mount, teg axles, linkage, p28 ecu, and your done, one of the easiest swaps to do, if your good it shouldn't take you but a day for the swap and a day for tuning, nice weekend job!

See posts like these **** me off.

Have you ever done the swap yourself? Do you even know what it REALLY takes?

Read my post and you'll find that it's not as easy as plugging in a P28 and running off to the dragstrip.

Anyone else want to chime in as to how this swap is a total plug and play? If so I say you've never done the swap before.

I HAVE and I can tell you there are catches that will **** you up if you're trying for a one day swap. The things I've outlined will keep someone from being pissed once he finds that he needs an alternator, distributor, etc.

If you do not really know the snwer for God's sake PLEASE do not post!

special thanx to B18C5-EH2, not only gave me the answers i needed but gave me some pics, and trust me i need those pics cuz i am not really good at wiring!!

few more questions:

so the stock 99-00 si manifold dont have a place for the IAT?

also i have a 92 civic and i'm using a EX wiring harness so to wire vtec its still just 2 wires??? where at in the stock harness does those wires plug up??

i already have a 95 civic Ex wiring harness and some RC 310's obd1, and i got the 99-00 si altenator but i dont have obd1 voltage regulator. any one here got one off of a obd1 altenator that quit working???

Correct. That's why I said get a 99-00 AEM CAI because it has the IAT port.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">also i have a 92 civic and i'm using a EX wiring harness so to wire vtec its still just 2 wires??? where at in the stock harness does those wires plug up??</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you have a 1992 Civic and you're using an EX engine harness ou will not need to add any wiring whatsoever if you run a rechipped P28.

Take the voltage regulator out of any stock D series OBD1 alternator - it bolts in just the same and will allow you to keep the newer B16A alternator.

I'll see if I can find an old alternator at my shop and take it apart as I take pics to help out more.

so i gotta get a IAT sensor?? cuz i'm not sure that i have one

if u have the voltage regulator out of a obd1 alt, i'll gladly buy that from u and that IAT if u have a spare one

also my friend flaked on gettin me a EX harness so i still gotta find one i guess. if i use a DX one i will need to add only the 2 vtec wires??

thanx!

If you use a DX harness then yes you'll only need two wires to add.

The voltage regulator should come out of your stock D series engine.

IAT sensor? Let me see how much they cost from Honda. If not I'm sure you can find one. I think any OBD2 B series car would have the one you need.

Hey I'm about B16A2 swap into a 94' Del Sol S and i got a B16A2 out of a 92' Integra DA, I've got the motor sitting in the engine compartment but of course the mounts don't match... What do i need to do to get it to sit right, and how do i do the wiring for it?
Thanks,
Soul of Osiris
