Re: 98 Civic rear disc brake conversion
you are correct. but its very very simple.
I would just get the bracket to bolt on caliper instead of swapping whole thing out.

Dealer is unlikely, but you might get some help from a small independent shop.
You can get the bracket swap kit as mentioned above or just go with OEM Honda parts:
94-2001 Integra (all except Type R) rear trailing arms with disks and calipers
or
93-97 Del Sol Si or VTEC rear trailing arms with disks and calipers
or
99-2000 Civic Si rear trailing arms with disks and calipers
and
99-2000 Civic Si parking brake cables
The trailing arms with disks and calipers shouldn't cost you much more than 100-150 bucks at just about any wrecking yard. The cables you can still buy new from Honda. It all bolts up like factory. Optionally you can look into a 15/16-inch or 1-inch master cylinder and brake proportioning valve for a 4-wheel disk car.

Re: 98 Civic rear disc brake conversion
if your doing the swap. and you don't have abs...get the non abs prop valve.
you can go without the prop valve....but it would behoove you to do so. it actualy makes a big difference.
also...if you really wanted brake power get integra brake booster and master cylinder...GSR parts are bigger. type r are even better.
I had GSR front and rear brakes on my EG with GSR brake booster and master and prop.....stopped very well

Re: 98 Civic rear disc brake conversion
no its the same. the bore is what is different. basically has a large fist pushing more fluid pressure.
and to have more detail you need the 40/40 prop valve. that's the desired (term) not the 40/20
theres a guy in the marketplace selling a conversion bracket setup and calieprs.........
