98 civic noob engine question
I have a 1998 civic ex and have the 2000 front end and si trunk and wing and SI wheels and was thinking about putting a b16a into the car. I tried reading up on all the engines and everything but got confused any help?

Your being kinda general, how much for what? Paid to have it done? How much engine, tranny was, mounts, etc?
Careful new guy. Theres alooot of info on here, just gotta look for it.

Re: 98 civic noob engine question
ok. its a basic drop in. if your smart enough to do some wiring you can do it yourself. i will say though try for the 99-00 SI b16 since itd be obd2. if not you'll need more work for converting.
it cost me a lil over 3500. for the block, new parts(spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing belt, water pump), new rywire harness, and putting it in. oh got the LSD option too.
take a few days to do but its simple. if that doesn't answer it...rephrase your question.

if you have a 98 d16 in it then their is no wiring the harness will plug up to the b16 with no issues except the o2, you have to strech the wiring for the o2 so itll go in at the end of the exhaust manifold and not at the top, and yes i know this for a fact because i have a b20v and the harness is for a 98 ex

oh btw yeah its a drop in, if your good with tools you can have the old motor out and the b16 in-in about an hour or so as long as you have all the mounts and linkage your good to go
