automatic transmission interchangeability?
Will an auto tranny from a 99-00 honda civic fit into a 98 Acura 1.6 EL?
Someone wants to sell me their automatic tranny from a 99-00 Civic Si (Its a Canadian Si so in the US I think its a Civic HX) but I'm not quite 100% sure if its a 100% straight bolt on.
Can someone shed some light on this?
Thanks

Re: automatic transmission interchangeability? (stevescivic)
Im not 100% familiar with the EL but its just a simple 4 door civic with a different front end, correct? D16y8, D16y7 engine? If so then yes the Si will work. You guys have the SI-R correct? If i have that all right then yes itll work, but i think youll have different shift points because of different ecus

Re: automatic transmission interchangeability? (Luserkid)
yes we in Canada have the SI-R's which of course are all manual tranny's mounted onto a B16A.
The 98 EL looks like a normal civic SOHC Si (Canadian Si so D16xx) engine with Vtec.
I'm just hoping that the wiring and the mounts are exactly the same.
Thanks
