Default '98 civic dx d16y7 no start coolant on floor

So i get in my civic this morning and it labor's really hard to turn over and sounds like a dead battery so i throw the charger on it and it turns faster but still no go. While cranking it over i heard the ocasional "puff" out the exhaust pipe. then i got out and noticed coolant under it...head gasket? IDK

there were no metal on metal noises just really labored cranking and no firing at all. I have had this car for nearly a year and half with very few issues. Replaced the IACV (idle control valve) shortly after getting it. and did a tune up but thats it beside oil changes. Any ideas or suggestions on things to check? I had thought maybe the timing belt could have jumped a tooth or even broken maybe??? but i would guess i'd hear valve on piston noises if that were the case. IDK help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick

Coolant under the car or on the floor inside the car? First things first, find the leak and fix it. If its leaking into the car, its probably the heater core. If you cant locate the leak visually, put a pressure tester on it. Once you start puting pressure in the system, and external leak will make itself noticeable. Make sure the radiator is topped off with coolant, otherwise it wont build pressure with the tester.

With the no start, go down the normal diagnostic chain until you find whats missing and go from there to figure out why its not starting. Check for spark, fuel, timing and compression. One or more of those missing will ultimately cause the car not to start.

If the timing belt broke it should crank over faster than normal and it wont make a "puff" noise out the exhaust. If it jumped timing it could cause that type of symptom. Like i said, check for spark and fuel first. then go about looking at you timing and compression.
