97 del sol vtec engine wiring
Ok. So i did a search and I think i may have found what i'm looking for, but i'd like to ask the professionals. i have a 97 del sol vtec, and im putting in a b16 from a 99 civic SI. the wiring harness did not come with, and even if it did, the ek wiring is 1 piece from what i reead, and is not compatible. so what harnesses can I use? If i read correctly I can use a 94-99 GSR engine harness, or a 92-95 civic EX engine harness. or of course 93-97 del sol si/vtec engine harness correct? need to know soon, had a 96 civic ex harness I was gunna use until I found out it was 1 piece and wouldn't work lol. thanks for any help with this in advance.

Re: 97 del sol vtec engine wiring
I put a d15b vtec in my del sol with the wiring harness from a 92 civic sedan dx. Then I pulled that motor and put the d15b7 engine the harness came from back on the motor. Now I have a 99 B16A2 engine in there with the same d15b7 harness that came off my 92 honda civic dx sedan.
You have to extend some wires and add some for the knock sensor but the harness works great. Extending wires is no big thing. Just get the right size primary wire and some heat shrink tubing to seal up the soldering. You can use a lighter or your soldering iron to shrink the tubing. When you get each set of wires all ready, use some plastic loom and some e tape to make it look like everything else and to protect it.
Some of it looks better than stock and some of it just looks ok but to get your motor running properly and clear codes, this method works well. I sometimes use old wiring from the junyard if I can get it for free. The loom likes the rest and the wiring is either good or it isnt. Free is free to me.
