96 lx - blinking CEL and codes 65 and 71
Just bought a 96 lx, previous owner installed a d15b1 after the y7's demise....lame. The y7 intake and ecu still are present. It ran very rough when i bought it. I replaced the cap, spark plugs and wires, and cleaned the pcv. Car idles smooth and runs much better now but it still has a problem. When driving the car if you try to speed up it feels like the engine loses power. IT DOES NOT SPUDDER, there is no difference in exhaust note or anything just a lack of power? The check engine light flashes all the time due to a jumper he said the code was cuz one o2 sensor had been removed when they installed the header and downpipe. Any info would help just need to get it runnin as best as possible till i can afford a b16

Re: 96 lx
just checked my cel throwing a 65(secondary o2 heater) 71(random misfire cylinder 1). So i look under car and the 2nd o2 sensor is not there could this be what the problem is. Could my ecu be fooled by this and not dump the right amount of fuel..... please any info would be great

Re: 96 lx
second o2 on a y7 should be on the bottom of the cat under the hood (the exhaust manifold) and it is used for catalyst efficencey not fuel trim (thats the primary o2 job )and the missfire is why the light is flashing it mean's catalyst damage . If your cat is pluged up it won't have any power and it won't rev very well. good luck

Re: 96 lx
The CEL blinks when random misfiring is severe enough to damage the catalytic converter. Start by inspecting the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.
CEL code 65 is likely a separate problem. Start here by checking whether dash fuse 15 is blown.

you need to look and see when they swapped the motor if they put the crank senor back on there and its all plugged in by the crank. if u dont have a second O2 then its going to throw a code but that has nothing to do with you fuel. the missfire is what is messing with your fuel.
