96 CIVIC NO TAIL LIGHTS ON BRIGHTS????
Hi my name is Mary. I recently purchased a 1996 civic for my daughter all front and rear lights work on dim problem is when the brights or parking lights are on all tail lights go out only thing that will work is the brake lights when pedal is pressed. I found on this site that it was probably the dimmer switch so i changed that. Still have the same problem. Any help is appreciated.

It might be a relay. Relays are pretty cheap, so maybe swap out the most likely ones first with new or working relays. Sometimes a previous person might have put the wrong type of relay in the wrong slot on the car and that can cause an issue too. Mechanics are not always DC wiring geniuses, they make mistakes.

U.S. or Canada? By dim, do you mean daylight running lights? Or do you mean low versus high beams?
Start by testing the light switch.
