95 hatch auto has a manual ECU - shitty gas mileage
I just picked up a 95 DX hatch (automagic) to use as a DD. It's surprisingly in decent shape, and runs pretty well with its stock D15B7. It does get somewhat shitty gas milage tho...but that could be an old O2 / cat thing. I'm gonna replace those and see if the MPG increases.
However, while troubleshooting my AC clutch not kicking in, I found that it has a manual ECU (P06-A02), where it should have an auto ECU (P06-A52).
Would it be okay to leave it? I have no cel, and like stated, it seems to run fine.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
TIA

Re: Wrong ECU in my 95 hatch
-Do an ignition system tune up.
-I would think that the engine rpm where the auto transmission chooses to change gear is non-optimal without an auto ECU. This may also contribute to the low gas mileage.

I'd definitely replace it, automatic P06s aren't worth much.

Check and see if i's just the ECU case, I've seen some that had guts switched between cases for some unknown reason. There should also be a sticker identifying the board on the grey ecu connector, inside the case. Ideally the board sticker and ecu case sticker would match, but this is not alsways the case, I found out the hard way.

If you're used to driving 5 speed civics be prepared to be underwhelmed as far as fuel mileage goes.
