95 EX Coupe, Starting Problem?????
I live in Ohio, and its been a fairly sucky winter to say the least.
Anyhow, my Civic has only been here for 4 years, and this has been the worst winter it has endured.
Here is my problem. It seems, after really cold night, or ice storms/snow storms, when I try and start my car, it has a problem. When I turn the ignition, everything comes on as normal.. fine, then at the last click for the engine to turn over, everything cuts out!! completely, I lose all power to everything on the dash, stereo, clock, everything. The motor sounds like it gets a very short spark, then its dead... Now this has not happened on a couple of warmer dry days. Has anyone ever had this problem, and do you think it sounds like condensation on a contact that causing a short???
Oh yeah, when this happens, and I try to start again, everything remains dead. I can get out of the car, walk around the car, get back in and it will start... Other than the cold/ice it happens randomly.
TIA!!

it sounds to me like you have a dead cell in your battery and when it's cold your battery loses charge

Yeah, I think your right flip.
Someone else told me the same thing.
I just got the battery in August!! argh, fortunately my friend works where I bought it. Time to go get it tested.
thanks!
