95 civic Si **AC RECHARGE HELP**
I'm pretty sure my system is a R124, and I know that there are various DIY kits sold at local Auto-zone's. I also searched already, but nobody explained exactly how one should attach a vacuum to the system.
Lets say I decide to get the DIY kit... What exactly is the correct process to doing this right?

your system is R134a
be sure to watch the guages when you are recharging don't want the low side to get to high
the system should come w/ instructions on which color to hook to the high and low side of the lines, follow instructions on the kit, if i remeber i will remeber to look at the one at the shop tomarrow and remeber how to do it

haha, thank's for the correction.
So this "vaccum pump" is included in the kit?

if you have a good kit it will only allow you to connect to the low side for recharging .. but dont worry about mixing them up .. they are different sized ports.

where did u get r124 from? before the late '80's they used r12 but now they use r134a because it's more "enviromental friendly"

Nope.. thats something that you can buy for about $140 to $500 depending on which kind you want.
seriously take it to a shop or someone who knows what they are doing. you can mess it up.
and NEVER use Refergerant with SEALERS.. you will regret it later when you do it and want a shop to work on it. They will either charge you 4X more or just refuse to touch your car

1993 and older Hondas used R12 originally. All 1994 and newer Hondas use R134a.
