95 Civic AC System says R134A
is there some kind of adapter honda uses to fill their R134A systems? I went to autozone yesterday to buy a R134A recharge can and doesn't even fit the schrader valve. The R134A Recharge can uses a quick disconnect like you have on airtools. Kind of odd.

2 ways to tell
R134A "air tool" style with a "H" and "L" side
R12 has screw on style Nipples
now that being said did u put it on the correct side i cant remember but the fitting will only go on either the H or L side not both

R134a is the standard for AC these days. There should be a tube that attaches the can that allows for you to insert the r134a. Be careful on how much you add if your hose does not have a meter though. The best thing to do is to just do a vacuum and recharge on the whole system at a local shop.

Re: 95 Civic AC System says R134A
Yeah that's odd. The guy at the parts store is like cars from 95+ up should have been made with the new R134A system. So I double checked the car and found some sticker on the shock tower stating R134A is needed, but the system uses schrader valves like your tires use. So i'm thinking this is R12, and not R134A. And if this is the case, I need to buy the retro kit and convert everything before i take it to a shop and get raped.

THEY ALL HAVE SCHRADER VALVES r12 and r134 (how would u hold pressure if u did not have them)
like i said go out side and look and see if it is Air tool chuck style or if it has threads
r134 snaps onto fittings and r12 Screws on

R12 we have a winner! (obviously I lack the knowledge on the AC department)
Every Honda I owned the first thing to go was the AC system. As I get older, that AC system is a must.
