95 Civic D15B Vtec-Not Starting
Hello. i just got my head resurfaced, valves and seals replaced and i put everything back on today. Went to start it but wouldn't turn over. i have spark on my spark plugs but not starting. could a bad cap and rotor cause a car not to start? i checked all my wires and sensors and everything is hooked up. i also check for fuel and its getting fuel fine. bad dizzy? main relay? bad timing? what would cause it too crank and not start? Thank you in advance!

spark plug wires are correct. Injectors are getting pulse. It sounds like it wants to start and kind of back fires with a little bit of smoke coming out my throttle and intake but doesnt start up at all.

Ok got everything back on. I had my car cranking when trying to start but never turned over. I checked all my wiring and looks like its all connected right. I tried again this morning and now when I push the clutch in and now car won't crank at all. My kill switch is disabled but not cranking at all now when I try to start. i can jump it by the starter in the engine compartment but not from the key. It worked yesterday but this morning nothing. Almost like the clutch wiring broke or something. Need help. Also I have no power coming out of my ignition coil in my distributor but that's a different story. Please help. Thank you

From your other thread:
PS
You should have the mods lock the other thread since you are now asking the same question in two different threads, this one having the more relevant thread title.
So it's cranking and NOT clicking? Those are two entirely different scenarios.
According to your last post, it sounds like you already tested it. So did you test it? Or are you assuming?
And what is the story (and how is that a different story)? Because if it's not providing power, then it's not providing spark. If it's not providing spark, you do not achieve combustion. If you do not achieve combustion, the engine will never turn over...which is the condition you currently have if I'm understanding that correctly.

No worries, let's just get this thing solved. I know it sucks putting in so much work and then not being able to have it run properly. I'm sure we've all been there at one point or another (or repeatedly).

yeah ill check the rubber stopper today. I checked timing and seems to be good. i dont think my coil is getting any spark though. might need a new dizzy.

You mentioned head resurfacing... was any other work done such as re-cutting valve seats and/or lapping valves ??? If so, your valve adjustment may be too tight and thus not creating enough compression to allow the engine to run. The starting issue sounds like RonJ has mentioned above... check the clutch switch pad. Dark blue plastic disc parts along with a small cone found in the floor mat is a dead giveaway, and a common failure for vehicles your age.
