Default 94 zc block y7 head idle lope. And Continuous code 5

New here. Did some lurking and searching and didn' find exactly what I was looking for. So sorry if I'm asking a repeat question.. I recently bought a 94 coupe that has a zc block and according to numbers a y7 head. P06 computer. When cold it cranks and has a lope in the idle so bad you would think it had a cam. After about 20 seconds the cel comes on and it idles up no tach but based off experience I would say about 1300 to 1500 rpm maybe a bit more. And has a hard time cruising at one speed, but runs okay under accel or decel and cel comes up 5 for map. I have replaced with 3 known good denso maps and one new parts store. When I got the car it was all messed up plugs in the wrong spot things not hooked up. I have most everything sorted out now but I am wondering if maybe timing is off due to lope?

Check if the sensor plugs are on right. It is possible to swap the TPS and MAP plugs. The plug with one white wire goes on the MAP. Also all the 2-wire plugs can be swapped. You really have to go through and check the wire colors.

If you have the plugs right then you would check voltages and for broken wires between the MAP and the ECU.

Thanks man. Yeah when I bought it the tps and map were swapped. I havent checked any of the two wire plugs yet but I will and then I'll check voltage

Update. All of the plugs seem to be plugged in to the corresponding locations. When it's cool out (less than 65) no cel for map. But crazy loping idle not up and down but a lope like it has a cam. I have read that timing belt being too tight can cause this. Any truth to that?
