Default 94 LS axel in EG w/ b16 tranny

my friend has a 94 hatch with a gsr swap and a b16 tranny. driver side axel is busted. so I am wondering if a axel from a 94 LS w/ manual tranny and no ABS would work so i can order one tonight. THANKS

it depends whether it is a male or female, try it out and see if it works, since it is a teg axle it will most likely work

YES IT WILL WORK.

besides the ABS trigger being on the axle end, the axles from any USDM 92+ five-speed tranny B-series are interchangeable

what do you mean. we ordered one for a 94 LS w/o abs and where it goes into the tranny... it had a female end instead of male.. so it wont work. we just ordered a axel for a teg w/ abs, which is also the same # for the 99-00 civic Si (tranny being used). so i hope this all works now..we ordered an axel from a car that had abs... this isnt going to mess anything up going into the hub on the EG will it?

abs systems use a sensor on the knuckle that reads the axle rate of rotation.
abs reads the rate of rotation by sensing the metal teeth that are on section of the axle as it rotates while driving the wheels.
the metal teeth are like a gear of sorts, not really though, you will see the metal ring on abs axles where the axle attaches to the knuckle/hub.

you can swap abs axles and non-abs axles if you dont want to use abs or dont have abs on your car.

ok... well when my friend took his busted axel out it looked normal. male ends at both sides.... we ordered an axel from a 94 teg LS w/o abs for manual tranny... the end where it goes into the tranny was a female end? then we ordered one from a teg w/ abs and still female end at the tranny side. (same part # as the 99 civic Si) . so this time we were told to get one from a 90-93 integra... cant remember w/ or w/o ABS. the tranny is said to have come out of a usdm 99 Si. and the engine is a 95 jdm b18c1. we were/are just stumped on why all of these axels have female ends where the go in the tranny instead of male like the one that came out of it? any ideas on this. thanks again

i have never looked at a civic Si tranny... so i dont know if it has male or female inserts for the axel?

on the my 94 civic with a 95 ls motor the driver side has a intermediate shaft with a male end going into the female driverside axle the passenger side of my car has the male end that goes right into the tranny. I thought all ls motors were like that.
