94 Del Sol Starting Problem
Hey guys, thanks for giving me a shot to ask a question. I have a 94 Del Sol SI w/the SOHC Vtec. The car was running perfect on my way to work Wednesday. I went to start the car that afternoon and it wouldn't start. The car had no spark. I replaced the entire distributor (reman), cap, rotor, etc., as it was all original equipment w/160k plus on it. The car started right up and idled fine.
I work at a dealership, so I went into the shop to return my technicians tools. I was inside for about 5 minutes. When I came back out, the car wasn't running. No spark again. Nothing from the plugs or coil. I've checked the 50A fuse under the hood, it's fine. I pulled the ECU, nothing obvious there, looks perfect actually. The car is getting fuel.
The obvious thing is that the new distributor took a dump already for some reason, I'm going to get Advance to order another distributor. But I just wanted to know if anyone else has any ideas of what could be going on? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 94 Del Sol Starting Problem (eclipsed95)
Anybody else have any ideas? Advance will have a new distributor by Monday, so I'll know Monday morning if that's it or not. Until then I'm open to suggestions.

Well, here's an update.
I replaced the distributor and the plugs. The car started right up. I took it out for a test drive after letting it run for a while. As soon as I started to let out on the clutch, something felt weird. I go to take off and the car is really bogging down. Basically what the car is doing is really hesistating and bogging down in the low rpms. It let's up in the higher rpms. So when you're gunning it, the car's ok, but when you're driving normal, it's missing.
Anybody got an idea or similar problem? This is so annoying!!

i had the same issue, after tons of research i was pretty sure it was fuel related, which after all you've changed i'm sure yours is as well.
after trying fuel filter and other crap, i got some fuel injector cleaner and drove it like it was stolen for a pretty long period of time, more so then i usually do, cleared everything up too.
you're in wv, give it a whirl.

Re: (instrument)
Thanks for the response. I thought about that too. We use BG stuff at our dealership, so I'll see what we have for fuel tomorrow. It's gotta be cheaper than new injectors.
