94 Civic sputtering problem...
The car has a D15B.Its an EX and its automatic.Basically what the car does is,it sputters when you press on the gas and the car will have no power until about 3000 rpm at which point the power kicks in.It doesn't seem to happen when the car is first started, only when its been driven around for a few minutes. Also it doesn't seem to do it as bad when its cold out.The problem started out small and has gotten worse and worse. Its my sisters car and she said its almost gotten her in many accidents because of this problem so it must be fixed asap.If anyone has any ideas please let me know.Thanks.

Re: 94 Civic sputtering problem... (fryman)
i have to say it could be a number of things. i would check timing and the cap, rotor,
plugs. and take some passes around the old engine bay for a while and see if any thing seems out of place. or if you have access to a compression tester would be good, look down all the holes first to see if any thing looks bad and if all holes are with in 20%. you
are good on that . make sure that if u do a compression test take out the fuel pump fuse.
check the gap on spark plugs to make sure they have not gotten to far out of spec.
and if that fails check coolant lvl if low fill and do a pressure test.... i know this is a lot to do but sounds like it might track down your problem hope u own tools and have some know how.
gonna have to say it could be your auto trans they take a **** at 100k some
times they go farther dose it feel like a slipping of transmission like the motors working fine but it wont catch till 3g,,,,,,, more info is always best ,,,,,,,

Re: 94 Civic sputtering problem... (Panda_slicks86)
It just sputters and hesitates to go until it hits about 3000 rpm and when it hits around that area it gets a huge boost. Also the car idles rough after driving it and it will stay at around 500 rpm and then dip like its gunna stall and then jump up to about 500 rpm and repeat over and over. This car really is a lemon...its had so many problems. But I'll take your advice and check those things and I'll see if I can make a video if I cant figure it out.
