Default 94 Civic LX dies when you hit the gas

Idles fine when we can get it started. Will drive well for a few miles then loses power and dies. we can get it restarted but once we give it gas (or try to) it cuts out again. Replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs, distributor...can't figure out what it could be. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No cels. We're thinking now it might be the main relay. Going to check later this afternoon.

Well we've replaced the main relay and it feels like gas is going now, but the engine is still cutting out. Adjusted the distributor (moved it a bit out of position) and it ran well for awhile, but had trouble starting before that. Could it be the timing belt?
