94 civic ej2 coupe/99 b16a swap - Want trade opinions & help with problems from swap
Hey whats up Honda-Tech, its jdmRican im on a few honda forums i had the gunmetal ef sedan all stock just dropped on si wheels
in which i traded for a 94 honda civic ej2 coupe with a b16a swap from a 99 i believe they told me it has a gsr tranny gsr axels
i seen a few things wrong with the wire'n set up on this car and also it was running on like a low idle hesitation so it'll only take off with high rpms
also v-tec wasnt poppin they have it wired up all different running a wire directly to the ecu.
i checked the ecu and its a po6 ecu and they had it running on a b16 motor ???????
hows that possible, and the car also wastes gas like CRAZY! right now it doesnt wanna start up anymore my uncle said off time'n or the distributor
it also was leaking tranny fluid, they told me to put motor oil in the tranny cuz it was a thicker liquid. ??
help questions suggestions?
i've been told already to get a obd1 v-tec wire harness and a p28 ecu i found a p75 i believe a stock b16 ecu would this work?

Motor oil in M/T is fine... I've seen alot of people put 10W30 and its ran fine.
As for the rest...
It seems like you were anxious to make the jump from sohc to dohc and you didn't really care for what was wrong with the motor =/
Both nice cars though.
gL man.

Your p06 could have bene chipped to run the b16, you wouldnt know unless you opened it up and looked for the vtec chip. many people run the vtec wires straight to the ecu as only 1992 civics + si/ex civics come prewired for vtec.
The leaking tranny is most likely the axel seals or the crush washer, you can run 10w30 but id recomend honda mtf, its pretty cheap like 5 bucks jug.
Is your car throwing any cel (check engine light) if so, what are they?

dont understand why you traded after that info. i would replace that buld and figure out what codes its throwing. burning a lot of oil is not a good thing.
