Icon2 94 civic dx/B16 swap/chipped ECU - problem during acceleration

i have a 94 civic dx with a B16 swap in it and i have a chipped ECU in it now, the ECU is great and runs fun.... until i want to get on it? when im getting on it i can go through first and second gear quick and easy but when i get to 3rd my check engine light comes on and i feel like im losing some power and i cant hear my V-tech kick in anymore but instead i hear a weird noise that sounds like a grinding noise? but then when i shut my car off and restart it, the check engine light is gone? buts its only when i get on it does my check engine light come on.. figured its throwing bad codes or sumthin like that.
PLEASE HELP
Thanks
Ben

What ECU? WHy is it chipped? Did you chip it? What map is on the chip? Sounds like a crappy basemap on it. Why are you not running the ECU for the engine?

Is the chipped system tuned?

Is there a reason that you haven't posted the CEL codes?
