94 civic d16z6 driveshafts dont turn
ok, please help
i have a 94 civic with the 1.6 vtec d16z6
i took the tranny out to change the crank seal and realized it was the input shaft seal that was leaking so i opened the tranny and changed the seal and the bearing, i followed the fsm and i was sure i did everything right. when i got it all back together i can feel all the gears but the wheels dont move. the speedo goes up any time i give it gas, even if its not in gear. reverse makes the whiring noise. with the clutch pedal out its grinds if i try to put it in reverse or a higher gear so i know the clutch is engaging. what could it be? i put new driveaxles on so im going to check that first the guy at the dealer ship said they might be the wrong ones, but they fit in perfect.
i would appreciate any help, ideas, or advice. this is my daily driver/only car and im doing all this in the rain ill check back frequently, and post back when the drive axles are off
thanks in advance,
Morgan

passenger side axle should be flush into the tranny and the driver's side always has a 1/8 in gap for me but they work

I'm having a similar problem.
I have a 92 dx hatchback
I swaped in a D15b SOHC vtec engine off a 95
For the trans I got a 96-00 trans P4A-B000 from a d16z6 SOHC vtech
I installed the drive axles from the stock dx trans P20-a000 that I took out of my car .
when I got it all together, I got a low crackling noise coming now and then when taking off in 1st and after shifting to 2nd. and 3rd sometimes does not engage. But 4th & 5th shift smoothly every time. While other times it all works just fine.
since I'm using 92' driveaxles on a trans that is 96-00,
I was thinking that the drive axles are not compatible.
another thing is do I need to change the shift linkages too?
Or did I just get burned for a lousy trans?
any info will help.

You got burned. All '92 - '00 D-series axles are interchangeable, even the automatic ones. Btw, that transmission is from a D16Y8 not a Z6.
