Post 94 Civic - CEL and low, rough and unstable idle

Now that my vehicle starts and run, I have a sensor issue.

At times when I start up my car and let the motor normal out (warm up the car) for 15-30 mins, my check engine light comes on. Whenever I drive my vehicle on highway or city streets check engine light comes on. Not sure which sensor is causing my car to have a low, rough and unstabe idling. This problem only appears when my vehicle has normal out when I'm driving around. Which sensor is the cause to low, rough and unstable idling?

Don't think you did it correctly then.

What's the code then if you did it correctly you'd know ? jump it and post it up. here is a list http://check-engine-light-codes.blog...retrieval.html

Long blink=10
short=1

so:long long short short=22(that's just an example)

I've repeated the code check again and the code was 17. Vehicle Speed Sensor. What are the symptoms of a bad VSS?

Reset the ECU to see whether code 17 repeats.

Does the speedometer work?

Have you cleaned the IACV and replaced the PCV valve?

RONJ@HT: Resetting as in disconnecting the connector harness from the ecu? If so, then I haven't tried. But first attempt read code 17 (VSS).

B_Swapped93: I have a swapped non vtec LS 1.8L motor. But Speedometer doesn't work either. Car starts and drives ok but not efficiently. Check engine light comes on when motor warm/heat up. Rough, low, unstable idle. If car left on neutral and parking mode, the idling will decrease and make the car die.

Are you sure the speed sensor is plugged in? I couldn't tell you how many times I forget to plug that thing back in.
