Default Hesitating problem. HELP!

I have a 97 LX. I have had a hesitation problem for some time now. Here's the deal. Only happens with about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle, mostley in first gear, but it will do it in all gears. Goes away when I press the throttle more. If I hold the throttle in the same spot, it is like I took my foot off, but after about 3 seconds it will slowly pick back up and be fine. It's not the motor. I swapped in another motor since it started doing it and still did it. I have now switched motor back to the original (for other reasons.) Still does it. Not the dizzy. I switched with a spare dizzy I had laying around. Same thing. I tested the TPS and it's smooth all the way to WOT. New wires, cap, rotor, plugs (did them just because.) Not any sensors on the engine because they were all swapped with each motor. BTW, it doesn't do it as much when it's cold, so I'm definitely thinking its a sensor. I'm still leaning towards the TPS. I have a spare one, so I'm thinkging of just swaping it anyways just to eliminate it further. Any thoughts?

found out tonight it also does it when in neutral. i can hold the throttle steady at 2 grand, and without moving my foot, it will drop maybe 500 rpms after a few seconds, then about 3 or 4 seconds later it will pick back up to 2k. then it will do it again after a few seconds.

btw, its not the tps. switched and same thing.

im thinking the only thing left would be map sensor. idk... im about to start getting mad.

My Integra does the same thing. It started doing it after i miss shifted.
It wasnt to bad though i just bent a couple of valves but i got my entire head
rebuilt and it still does the same thing your car does. Even at idle the rpms will
jump up and down. And it is worse when it is hot.

why the iacv? im curious. it used to give me problems cause the car sat for 4 years. it was sticking and idling high. i took it apart 2 or 3 times and cleaned it out with TB cleaner. still stuck for a while, but eventually freed itself and has been idling perfect ever since. im confused as to why it would be the iacv causing a stumbling situation. i cant see that cause a loss of power at a certain place in the throttle position.

well i replaced my iacv thinking it was my problem because my car would surge then drop down to low idle and almost die. and when is drops down that low it will also hesitate. but the fitv valve hs the same symptoms and can occur randomly like mine did, i had to rebuild mine. im assuming its the fitv valve making your idle low and hesitating.....have you checked the idle screw?

i already said it idles perfect, which is why my guess would be that it is not either of those, considering they both only do anything at idle. thanks though

no check engine light, brand new fuel filter. dont think its the fuel pump due to the fact that, again, it only happens at certain point in the throttle. fuel pump would be random, considering it's function has no connection to throttle position. if it came down to it i guess i could check it. anyone know where to get the adapter for a fuel pressure gauge for a civic?

im still leaning towards map sensor. wish i felt like checking it tonight, but id rather be inside, nice and warm on the computer.

OMG THANK YOU BLinindoll . Sorry for reviving an old post, but this will help some one else as it did me.
I had the same freaking symptoms on my 99 cx. I had code 41 as well and code 14. The hesitation started when car warmed up and at very light throttle. I replaced tps and iacv as well to no avail.

O2 fixed the problem !!
