93 ex ignition trouble
i just finished a regular tune up and am having a prob
i gapped and put in NGK's
bought and installed a new distributer cap and rotor
and put on new plug wires
(before i installed the wires, dis/rotor) i had 2 drive the car so i put on the old 1's and drove (had 2 go 2 work)
the car ran regular and fine (even had a nice little increase in throttle response)
so when i got home i put on the disributer cap and rotor
and took my car out 4 a spin
the prob is that now when my car kinda sputters(will not go ne faster
without shifting)
in 1st 18mph
2nd 28mph
3rd 48mph
-------------ect........
and i was wondering wut the prob could be?
did i install something wrong?
or ?????????????

Re: 93 ex ignition trouble (the omen)
maybe you have it set to the wrong firing order

Re: 93 ex ignition trouble (the omen)
the only thing i did besides remove the dis cap was change the rotary button
and to make it easier i slightly turned over the motor to make access to the screw that holds it on better
other than that the motor is a d15b7 and it looks like the angled dis in the 2nd thread
it's wired the same as the diagram and i now can smell some thing electical burning if i stay at the speed 2 long and not shift up/down

Re: 93 ex ignition trouble (the omen)
it's fixed now and it was because the guy at auto zone gave me the wrong dis rotor
it was some what the effect of a rev limiter kicked in at 3200-3400rpm
but thanks man
