Default 93 DelSol head question

Hi,

I have a 93 DelSol S with 1.5 engine that is in need of a replacement head soon. Can someone tell me, did Honda make more than one head for this engine?

If so, where are the casting numbers located on the head and do I need to remove anything to read them (like the heat shield etc.). Thanks.

More than one head for the D15B7 that's in your car? No. They made other heads that can be made to work, but there's only one type of D15B7 head. The casting code is on the front of the head, above the exhaust manifold. Don't need to remove anything other than dirt to see it.

Great! That is where I looked for the code, but I did not see it. I thought perhaps the exhaust heat shield was covering it. I will look again.

Yeah take the heat cover off... D16a6 head is very identical and will give it a little extra pep. Make sure you get the a6 cam with it, You can find those on the 90-91 CRX Si's.

a y7 cylinder head will bump up the compression like a z6 mini-me, without the hassle of adding vtec. skip the y7 manifolds, though.
