93 Del Sol stalls with solid CEL and fuel pump won't prime
1993 del sol si D16Z6 - so for almost a year my car has been having problems. it started randomly one day when it just died while i was driving. no sputtering or anything, like i just turned the key off. then if you let it sit for awhile it MIGHT start back up. or it might not, and the CEL stayed steady and no fuel pump prime. Now i know this could be alot of things and it requires some testing but up until now its never been a problem when ive been in a position to test it, as it usually died on the road and i couldnt mess with it and i also havent been able to duplicate it while just letting it run.
a little background, the ignition was replaced with a new one about 4-5 years ago, the ecu was replaced with a used one about 3 years ago, the distributor is only a couple months old reman unit with less than 50 miles on it since installed, i re-soldered the main relay hoping that would fix it, it didnt so then i went and got a new one and that didnt work either so i returned it. and put the old one back in. ive checked and cleaned all the grounds i know of. also checked all fuses.
the past few months the car has just been sitting and every day id put the key in to see if the problem popped up so i could mess with it. today it did. turned to on and the cel stays on, no pump prime. holding the main relay while doing this it clicks when i turn it off(cant really feel one when i turn to on but im assuming it does since it clicks when i turn it off, wrong?) pulled the code and its a 0 faulty ecu(steady cel).
so have i finally found the problem to be the ECU? any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

this isn't feasible for me. I don't know anyone with one, and i don't have the money to buy one and have it not fix the problem. this is not a constant problem...I've driven the car several days at a time with no problem thinking id fixed it and the same issue occurs, so I'd need the ECU for at least a week. I'd like to be fairly certain of the problem before i go out buying parts i cant return once installed. Any tests i could run would be helpful.

Er. Code 0 is for the ECU. If it is grounded there's a good chance it's on it's way out. That was your test.

pretty sure its grounded as good as its ever gonna be. its bolted down tight and I checked and wire brushed all the grime off all the grounds i know of. so is this something that could be an intermittent problem? causing it to die on the road and then start up after a few minutes, also causing it to not start at all sometimes? the last time my ecu went out it just died.

will do this when i get home. from a quick google search this should be fairly noticeable right? also assuming the board isnt fried how difficult are they to replace? or would i be better off with another ecu? your help is greatly appreciated.

well i pulled the ECU out and it looks like i have one leaking cap...so this should be the problem right? has anyone replaced these before? should i do them all? any helpful tips?

YES SIR, Same problem with my car!!!!!! But it seem to be a switch! I can't tell you which one it is because i could never trace back to the dam thing (dash removed and all), but i replaced the gauge cluster , main relay, 2 ecu's , 3 dizzy's, 2 ngk wire set's, 4 plugs, 2 fuel pumps, and every relay / fuse you can think of. So your guess is as good as mine, (no alarm on my car by the way)!!!!
Im following your thread for more info on this because i wrote around 4-7 threads on this and everyone seems to scratch there heads....
P.S Map sensors swapped also. IDK BRO
