Default 92 hatch - sparks near starter and now it won't crank

so i recently changed clutches on my 92 hatch and i put the trans back on then the starter and when i put everything on right and hooked the negative cable to the battery i heard a spark down by the starter. i didnt think anything would be wrong so i tried to start it and nothing happend. all u could hear was my pump engaging. could someone help me? also wheres the starter relays or anything fuse wise for the starter

Is there voltage to body ground at both starter wires? Voltage at the smaller solenoid wire must be checked with key in ON(III).

Is the G3 transmission ground wire connected, clean, and tight?

whats the G3 ground?? all grounds are clean and tight. and yes theres voltage to all them like u said. i took the starter apart and there was a hole melted into a long magnet thing that pulled out

G3 is just the transmission ground located on top of the transmission.

That's the problem.

Make sure to correctly connect the starter wires to the replacement starter.
