who knows man no one can answer that, if your motor is in good shape and you get a good tune and take good care of it you will be fine for a long time

The safe range for a stock internal D series is 220-240whp. Keep around this power range and you'll be fine. At 8psi, you dont have to worry about high intake temps and detonation, but be sure to get a chipped ECU and a good tune. Then just keep up on maintenance and you'll be fine.

did ur friend tune it? because ive known people that have blown their built turbo engines because after all the work theyve cheaped out and not wanted to pay up for a tune.

although there is no telling how long your motor can last without knowing the motors history, whats been replaced, and how its been driven, you'll be fine... but with 8 pounds of boost, with a good tune, and aken well care of it should last a while. at least enough to save for a rebuild, so you can push that motor.

Totally fine on stock internals. twelve pounds is really really pushing it on stock internals and even then it will last you a little bit if youre nice to it. I had a friend on 12psi ran the car like 9 or 10 months then it blew up but you're going 8 psi

but he's talking about a supercharger, which makes substantially less power than a turbo on the same PSI. He could probably run 12psi on the supercharger and stock internals with no problems, as long as it's tuned.

Getting a good tune is what's going to determine how long it'll last. I had an old d16z6 that ran 10 psi on a 50 trim that got beat on pretty much every weekend at the track for a whole season and then was pulled to put in a build motor. The stock d16z6 still had prefect compression across the board. I tuned it myself, must of did a good job if it still ran perfect after all that track time.
