ok i believe it should be as follows: the red wire connects to the positive side of the battery, the black is the ground, the green is for the distributor or distributor signal, and the white goes to the accessory power. im not for sure but i believe this is how it is supposed to wire it.

correct. and the other wires(if there are any they are brown and i belive purple) are suppose to be cut to tell how many cylinder motor you have. or something like that. i know some are like that.

i've noticed that the stock gauge tach is about 200-300 rpm off (esp in the upper rpm band) so aftermarket tach's are worth it IMO...

I think you can get the diagram from autometer cant you? And for everyone saying 5" tachs suck your just not fast enough to need one

What this guy is saying in no diplomatic fashion at all is get a cluster out of an Si or Ex, they have the stock tach in there. Some guys like the big tachs but Id rather keep myself under the radar from Johnny Law.

the bigger the tach, the bigger of a target your car is for theft. that's the way I see it. I just run the stock tach, and take mental note of how far off the rpms are.

my car didn't have a tach and i installed a 3" super tach II...

red = fuse panel
black = chasis
white = red and black wire on dimmer switch
green = blue wire on the left side of your gages, on the back. left side looking at it from the front. so your temp gauge. that way you don't need to find a way past the firewall. i just installed mine today
