2step/speedo

2step/speedo
just recently got my car running after going turbo i sent my ecu out to phearable for my basemap and took the car out for a test drive once i got it back. My speedo isnt working now and 2 step seems to only work before i start driving it. I know vss going bad is common in 99-00 si's but i wouldnt see it going bad from just sitting. Problem with the ecu maybe?

Re: 2step/speedo
Well im not sure if this helps, But my friend just got done putting together his B20V swap and he was running his buddies Hondata ECU which had 2step at like 4300 rpms. Well My Buddies speedo in his car wasn't working, which meant even while he was driving it was telling the ECU that the car isnt moving so he was hitting 2step while driving which felt like it was in a limp mode, But really it was just his bad speedo.

Re: 2step/speedo
Nope no problems at all before getting the ecu chipped. 2 step will work once I start the car and let it warm up but once I start driving it stops working along with the speedo

Re: 2step/speedo
Also when getting up to 4300 rpms where 2 step is set the car will sometimes sound like it is trying to use 2 step and sometimes I can keep pulling past 4300 all the way to 8

Re: 2step/speedo
check the plug on vss or try a diff ecu... most chipped ecus the 2 step only works when the car is stopped once you drive it wont work.......since you mentioned that sometimes the car wont rev past the 2step limit and sometimes it lets you go past it while driving. its propably a bad connection on vss... when it lets you go past the 2step rev limit while driving it means that the vss is sending some type of signal lettin the ecu know the vehicle is moving... you also should get a check engine if vss is not workin
