2000 si charcol canister?
hey guys my brother and i are fixing to put an jdm B16a in his 2000 si, my question is were wanting to clean up the engine bay a bit and delete a few things, the only thing im wondering about is the charcol canister, it looks alot different than the older ones ive seen. were also going to be converting to obd1 if that would make any difference, does anyone know if it will cause any CEL's if we unplug and delete it? thanks.

Yes, it will cause a CEL on an OBD2 car if you remove it. I believe they're like P1456 and 1457 codes, which normally indicate a bad gas cap, but also indicate that your gas tank is venting fuel vapor to the atmosphere, which is what the charcoal canister exists to prevent. It probably won't throw an instant CEL, but will cause one after 3-4 drive cycles (usually about 1/2 tank when I was having trouble with it).
I've seen it removed before, but I'm not sure how to do it without a CEL.
