2000 Civic Si B16B misses/cuts out
My civic started to cut out when I was getting on it and has progressivley got worse. I changed plugs and wires fuel filter and ran a can of seafoam. I am thinking it's the fuel injectors cause it kind of "bogs" out when I drive it normal now. The engine has good compression and is not throwing any codes. Sometimes it's worse than others, but anywhere from the idle being all choppy to the whole car missing (almost seems like I'm real low on gas or that I used really crappy gas as an example). If anyone has had a similar problem please let me know what you did to fix the problem. Thanks.

No EGR on the B16b ( or other B series for that matter ).
Check your igntion system setup.
start by making sure your timming is correct.
then check cap and rotor.
wires
plugs
Are you running the stock obd2 ecu ? or a chipped obd1 ecu ?

Re: 2000 Civic Si B16B misses/cuts out
A friend of mine came in with the same problem. First, isolate the misfire. Check to see what cylinder it's coming from. You can do this by simply having the car idling, and then unplugging each injector one at a time.
Step one: Car idling (MUST have the misfire present)
Step two: Unplug the first injector plug (start from any side you like, left right or right left)
Step three: See if there is a change in the misfire when you unplug it. (If it gets WORST) then plug it back in and wait 10 second to to unplug the next one.
Step four: Compete all four injectors. (Unplug, notice a change, and plug back in) You will notice one cylinder that does NOT change the misfire when you unplug the injector.
The one that does not change the misfire is the one that is causing the misfire. Check for bad plug, wire, compression, valve lash (leak down test), and or injector. This is the only thing I can think of from the top of my head. If you have any question, please ask and Ill be glad to get back to you in whatever I can help you in.

Re: 2000 Civic Si B16B misses/cuts out
Thanks for all the great feedback fellas! The wifes list of "to do's" kept me busy all day and didn't get a chance to play with the civic. I will pick up a cap and rotor tomorrow and try that and then try to unplug the plug wires one at a time. I can't belive I took the car to Honda and they did a computer check and compression check and could not find anything wrong and didn't know what to do. So, I paid my 150 bucks and then posted here and I get lots of great suggestions! Thanks again!!

Well, changed the cap and rotor and still does the same thing. The good thing is that it idles pretty smooth now! To me it seems like it's not getting enough gas when I'm getting on it and that's why it cuts out. I hate to keep spending money on replacement parts, but i guess that's the only way I am going to find out for sure. So, injectors and ignition coil, and then I will go from there.
