Default 2.5" drop: too much for stock shocks?

I have right now between a 2.5 and 2.6 inch drop and was wondering if the stock shocks are going to stand up to that for very long?I have a bit of bounce, is that because of my 450lb spring rate?thanks

did you even have to ask this question? Of coarse 2.5" is way to much for stock shocks. They will blow and must ride like ****.

I have had them for 4 months now and no problems whatsoever, I was just wondering how long they usually last with this set up? and no they don't ride that bad at all. thanks

I lowered my car on coilover sleeves so that there is a 1 finger gap all around, and I have been riding on stock shocks for well over a year and they haven't failed yet

They will hold up for a little while, but when they blow you'll be riding the waves.

I'd say with that big a drop they wouldn't last too long but sounds like their holding up pretty good.

Im sure it depends on roads, driving style, etc as well as the drop.

I rode on Neuspeed races on my stock shocks for about 9 months. It wasn't too bad at first, but the ride eventually got worse and eventually it was a MAJOR suck *** ride. I didn't even like driving the car because the ride sucked so much. I'd go over small bumps and it'd crash like I hit a speed bump.

Now I've got Neuspeed Yellows with H&R Race. Firm, stiff... but 100% improvement in ride quality over the stock struts.

yes the car is going to ride like **** you need to either go with a full coil-over like tein or get a set of kyb agx's and a camber kit
