Yes I searched, but everyone seems to be talking about 15x6.5. maybe i wasn't using the correct parameters in my search, but any immediate help would be appreciated.

I have a 96 ek hatchback with ground control coil overs and stock shocks.

i guess people would consider my car low (front and back has no wheels gap, but no tucking). Now, when i drive on straight paths with no crazy bumps, i don't rub at all. but when i do hard corners my fronts rub depending on which way i'm cornering (hard right turn, left front fender). I'm guessing it's b/c i'm on sh*tty stock shocks with no strut bar --> body roll. but every now and again my rear will also rub (like when i hit a big bump on the freeway). I've had a bad experience where a rubbing tire on my front fender wall ended up with my blowing a tire and cracking a semi-forged rim.

so is there any options for me that are NOT too costly? quick fixish? I've heard of "bat method," but rolling the fenders can cause damage if not done correctly, right? I'd rather not shell out money for shocks just yet, since i'm buying a swap, but are there any other recommendations? will the 205/50/15 falken ZIEX 512's rub similar to the AZENIS on the 15x7 40 offset, slip?

Reason why cars tilt when cornering is the soft OEM suspension combo - shock + spring. I doubt your GC coilover is stiff enough to keep the car in a relative flat position when cornering, let along "hard cornering".

You either 1) get a stiffer custom spring to reduce body tilting 2) raise the car higher.

You should tackle the suspension issue before you do anything else because obviously, it isn't solved. Leaving it half *** then do a swap will bring you more trouble down the road.

The above statement is true, however you are running 205's on a 15x7 wheel. I think everyone that has a pretty low car with 205 for width on their tires rubs. Its normal... I rub on my 195's sometimes, but im lower than you. Id suggest 195's and getting new shocks is not going to cure that problem.

My current street setup is 15x7 +43 with 205/50 tires. As far as lowering goes, the car sits 588mm from ground to tip of fender.

Translate that into "finger gap" language, that is about less than 1 finger gap - not touching, and not tucking but you have to tip your finger to get it inside the slit.

I haven't experience rubbing even at hairpin. But I should also add that I don't know what rubbing sounds like. I am using 16K (~900lbs) springs at the front, and 14k (~780lbs) at the rear.

I had an EJ1 that was tucking about .5 inch front and rear.

But now that I have gone and looked at the pics of his EK he shouldnt be rubbing at all since his car has a nice size gap between the tires....This is with his 16's but if his car isnt dropped anymore than it was in these pics I dont see why he should even come close to rubbing.

you had an EJ1? still got any pics?? i'm doing some upgrades on my 1300FE as we speak. can't wait to bring it out to it's first car shows this summer!

I have the exact same setup as you:

15x6.5 Rota's +40mm offset
205/50/15 Ziex 512's
2 inch finger gap

I rub a tiny bit in the front, and it rubs on the fender liner. I used to rub in the rear when I had my 16's but I don't with the 15's.

i've got the same problem, even though its an eg, still the same trouble. i rolled the fenders and no more trouble. didnt damage the paint either. just take your time and be careful. but no more rubbing and i'm tucked a little. same rims, with same size just with azenis. roll and go.

Yeah just like he said... roll the fenders, go slow you'll be fine. Just dont do it on a day where its like 40 degrees outside.... wait for a warmer day so that the paint is more flexible.

haha, the 1300FE doesn't have a chassis code as far as i'm aware of so we all just call it buy it's engine code (because honda didn't use the same engine in different cars back then).
