93 Civic 1.5 DX.

Car runs great but I have a 2 problems.

1) my car starts and runs fine except it seems like 1 out of every 100 times, the car won't start. Typical scenario is the car has been fine for weeks. I'll park somewhere but when I come out and try to start it, I get nothing. No noises, no clicking, absolutely nothing.

I'll push start the car and I'm on my way. Car is then fine for several days, weeks, even a month before it will do it again.

I assume my starter but I'm not sure. I've read it could be a bad ignition switch too maybe.


2) on cold engine start, the car will idle funny. Reving up and down for a few minutes before getting back to normal. This also is a 1 out of 100 chance. Doesn't do it every time. Sometimes if I let the clutch out a bit, it will stop.

i had same problem! ended up being ground wire so thats where i would start looking

You're talking about the ground wire that goes from the valve cover to the chassis?

i think hes reffering to all grounds on the vehicle

valve cover, trans, battery, there may be some other spots idk
