it truly does not matter. the O2 heater is simply a resistor and polarity does not matter with resistors.

If you really need to know, I can look it up for you.

Actually, it does matter.
If you wire it wrong (switch them up), you'll throw a cel.

As far as which is which...i used to do trial and error

car harness side of the O2 connectors, looking into the connector on the open side. (ie plugs not wires)

AB
CD

A=grn/wht - grn - O2 gnd
B=white - white - O2 signal
C=orn/blk - black - heater neg control
D=yel/blk - black - heater pos
(wire colors are for an EG)

actually the 2 black wires on the 02 sensor are both heater wires and the polarity does NOT matter

this is straight from the denso instructions

black - heater
black - heater
white - signal
green - ground

/\ beat me to it

Strange... Then what would cause the cel prior to switching them around?

1 would make sense. 41 wouldn't. 1 is the O2 sensor portion which matters which wire is which, 41 is the heater which doesn't.

Isn't low voltage an O2 signal code?

the only O2 CEL I can find that includes "low voltage" is about the O2 signal not the heater. The O2 signal wires are polarity sensitive.

I'm back to my original statement... reversing the heater wires will not result in a CEL.
