00 Si BOGS easy, cant even move!!!
Ok, I have a 00 Si. For the past 4 days ive noticed the pickup getting less and less on it. It had gotten to the point where i would floor it and it would not go hardly anywhere, i had trouble keeping up with traffic at red lights. Then it just dies. It will start over and over PERFECT. it will idle PERFECT. but as soon as i give it some gas or rev it or something it starts bogging out. and almost dies(sometime does) then goes back to a perfect idle. I've changed the rotor, cap, plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Could this be the fuel pump not delivering enough fuel? I dont have any smoke coming out the back. Any ideas?

Re: (Milano00Si)
i think i could be a problem with your fuel pump. mine car was doing that but that was because the nut for my fpr came loose and went really rich and flooded it which is why i was asking about your mods. but the only other thing i can think of is when was the last time you got a tune up?

how many miles are on the Si???
when was the last time you cleaned and reoiled your air filter??
did you try dumping some injector cleaner in there?
can you hear a whining noise from the back while the car is running???
you usually hear a whining noise from the fuel pump when it starts to go...

Re: (sidesi)
I had a customers car doing the exact same thing. His car had like 78k on it, Your converter is most likley stopped up. That is what was wrong with his and it took me 2 days to figure it out. Try unhooking the header from the cat and let me know what happens. good luck

yeah, I second the cat diagnosis. those are the last place you think to look tho!! or you can get a snap on OBD2 reader and check all your sensor reads... cuz it could also be the MAP sensor or TPS sensor not responding I suppose??

lol, that's what Im talking about , it's your cat or your fuel pump, I had the same thing happen to my inline fuel pump, the inline fuel pump f***ed up on me.

I would say it is the cat also. My brother-in-laws dodge ram was doing that. We would only beable to reach like 20mph with petal to the metal. That night we took a welder and cut the bottom out of the cat. The ceramic had broken and blocked most of the air through. We took it all out welded it shut (MAKING IT HOLLOW) then drove it up and down the road sounding like a damn monster truck. Drove like new. haha. CAT

check the cat, same symptoms happened to me too, car hit vtec in 3rd gear and i was going like 40 mph. Just take out the cat for a little bit and see if its easier to rev up and down. if it still does the same crap then you can rule out teh cat.
