cheap way to tell, try a diff. gas cap and see what happens

i do sometimes when its really hot outside, but i dont think it really matters...

Yeah. Your fuel tank does not need to make that sucking sound al the time when you unscrew the cap. That happens to me on hot days only. Last time I went to the gas station it did not do it. It does not worry me.

Put your car in your garage, take your gas cap off, (it may or may not make that sound), then put it back on. Start your car, run it for a minute, stop it, and take the gas cap back off. If it makes that hissing sound again, then I could be wrong. If it dosen't, then it's just a heat thing and don't worry about it.
