ok every time i go to fill up with gas and i take the cap off, i feel tons of pressure being let out, and i can hear gas fumes escaping, anybody know what is going on?

Think about it, gas gets taken out of the tank leaving space behind causes pressure inside the tank.

thanks ***'s i appreciate the help, and no it is not normal when you can FEEL pressure from the gas tank and if you take it off fast enough you can see ALOT of gas fumes rising from the tank. last time i checked that is not normal. now i was wondering if i can get some real help from people who want to help not the people who have to be complete dicks to people who have a question

Whats more serious is if you don't cap your gas tank all the way, your CEL might come on and your car won't run anymore.

Mine does it too. Just filled her up today. There is a pssshhh sound when I screw off the cap.

Sometimes I get a lot of "whoosh" and sometimes I don't. *shrug* I don't think it's anything to worry about.
